Top 3 Thursday – Stores I Can’t Leave Without Purchase

You think I’m joking? There are literally stores where either through guilt or love, I simply cannot leave without making a purchase. And if I do, it’s the most awkward scuffle out the door and I may wait months before returning again just in case. However, there are also stores where I can openly admit I have a problem and I am nearly certain I am not alone!

Honorable Mention:

HM goes to Target because I have in fact walked out my fair share of times without purchasing anything and it’s usually due to the terrible long lines and lack of cashiers. What’s dangerous about Target is not the fear of a purchase, because if I’m going to Target instead of somewhere else then I’m there for something specific. The danger is what else you can FIND while at Target that turns that one gift registry item into a cart full of cute office supplies, some bins, and “while I’m here I might as well” purchases.

3)Michael’s Craft StoreThis place is like Macy’s but on a more intimate scale, and by that I mean there is ALWAYS a coupon and nothing is ever full price. Like seriously, why bother? I was in there two days ago and because I had a 40% off coupon and the lady was like, “Oh, here’s another coupon off one item” AND I used my teacher discount, I saw my $62 total drop to $12.82. It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. Also, I’m pretty sure the slogan used to be “where creativity happens,” now I feel like I’m being commanded! DO IT! MAKE IT HAPPEN! *cries into my decoupage*

2)Home Goods This place is addicting because it is always changing! It is a fabulous place to find components for the PERFECT gift basket! Legit molcajete for $10, yes please. What’s that? You need some pillows and bathroom decor? Gotchu fam! Pet supplies? You need a cat tree? Oh we have a cat tree! A cute new decorative pillow? Wall art? The cutest coffee cups even though you already have 20 million?! Yes and Please! I’ll also take a few coffee syrups to go with it and this adorable little porcelain cake stand.

1) Half-Price Books

Was there ever a doubt in your mind? Did you know I love stationary? You already know I love a good thank you card! Guess what?! They have Papyrus level stationary and it’s only $2.99 for a box of 15 cards! You can’t even get ONE card at Papyrus for that little! They are adorable and not flimsy cards either. The HPB near me recently expanded their selection of foreign language offerings as well. I don’t mean the “Learn a Language” section either. I mean the “these kid’s books, chapter books, and novels are in [insert language here]” section! It’s wonderful! I love to stock up on bilingual books for my god kids to have available to read when they come over. With my teacher discount, stationary, and books under $10, it’s no wonder I can’t be trusted in this store with my debit card.
